Sharing others’ testimony to our work

I feel very happy to use this month’s Newsletter for the purpose of sharing two very touching success stories from others who have found peace of mind and improved health from the benefits of Stillness Meditation Therapy.

40-something years’ work with a range of clients, all gender and all age groups is joyful work indeed. And this topic links back to something I shared here a few months ago.

Listening to others’ stories, and assisting people to experience profound stillness and subsequent life improvement, my own early life anxiety challenges serve me well in relating to others’ stories. As we know, life is challenging – a mixture of joy and pain human means experiencing our beautiful times alongside times of loss, sadness, broken-ness, loneliness, bewilderment and fear. For many there is no apparent escape, no ease within and no real joy … and yet … clearly there is hope at hand as others say …

“From reading Living Calm in a Busy World” I truly felt the calm. The Universe orchestrated that I would find and read that book and come to meet with Pauline McKinnon. This book is really beautiful, really beautiful … and I know now how calm offsets the busyness in one’s life” …

And this wonderful piece recently received from a gentleman who consulted me many years ago, now living interstate …

Dear Pauline McKinnon,

My name is Wayne and I am writing to you to thank you for your exceptional input into my life.
I had the great fortune to be listening Fr. Dowling’s Sunday night talkback show on 3DB one Sunday night back in the early Eighties on which he had you as his special guest, discussing your just released book ‘In Stillness Conquer Fear’.

At the time I was suffering terribly from anxiety and phobia type stress and was not far from a full breakdown, so listened carefully to what you had to say that night.

I obtained your book the very next day, as well as “The Wealth Within” by Dr. Meares, and read them voraciously. Using the information obtained I tried the stillness meditation myself and experienced immediate relief. I quickly became wedded to the practice and have never let it go.
My ex-wife and I both wanted to join the classes you were running in a smallish hall in Kew. We could only afford for one of us to attend so my ex-wife took the classes. On the third week of sessions she was not well enough to go so I telephoned you to ask if I could attend in her place this one time. You generously agreed to this, so I had the pleasure of meeting you there, however briefly.

I distinctly recall the deep level of peace I perceived in your eyes and remember thinking what a great ‘advertisement’ you are for your method.

Last summer I experienced high levels of stress and anxiety in coping with serious disability and some other adverse life events. I responded to this by upping the ante on my meditation sessions, and this has yet again enabled me to cope.

I have explained to people over the years that mental ataraxis practice is the nearest thing I have ever experienced to having a ‘magic wand’ to deal with a problem. The relief gained is immediate, profound, costs nothing and requires little time.

What more could one want!

Thank-you so much for being the wonderful person you are, and for helping so many people cope with life.

All the best to you and your family.

Sincerely,
Wayne

I am honoured and humbled by those comments. But I am also extremely grateful to be reminded of just how powerful and helpful Stillness Meditation is as a form of therapy – and how perceptive was the discovery of this natural approach to better health by the late Dr Ainslie Meares (1910-1986).

Long may his brilliant legacy continue!

In Stillness, so begins the power of living calm. And then along comes confidence, peace of mind, productivity and the inner strength that leads of living a full and productive life.

Dreams can come true … let us help you live calmly in this busy world

Success through stillness takes time and commitment – simply cross one bridge at a time!
